Formerly known as Cannington Road School, the new Roding School in Barking, Essex has been constructed by Main Contractor Neilcott Construction. OGI was appointed to design and manage the installation of the Ground Source Heat Pump System.
This system included the integration of the Two NIBE 40kW Fighter Heat Pumps with a Conventional Gas Boiler. The Collector field included drilling boreholes up to 150m deep into the chalk in order to maximise the heat abstraction from the ground. The collector system included the use of the new innovative “Turbulence Collector” Developed and manufactured by Muovitech in Sweden which increases the heat abstraction from each borehole when compared to conventional borehole collectors.
A Muovitech manifold chamber was also used to ensure even distribution of fluids throughout the numerous collector pipes to maximise energy collection.
